I received this in my inbox today:

Hello Dr. Schrödinger,
I had reason to be in Brussels interacting with the EU government a few weeks ago.

After one of my meetings with a government flunky, I was out on the balcony having a smoke when I noticed a meeting going on in the next office. As their balcony door was cracked, I was able to listen in.

A scientist type was presenting his findings to other people, and they went something like this:

- The winds of the earth are casued by the earth's rotation
- With enough wind turbines / wind farms, so much wind will be neutralized that the earth will stop rotating and all life will perish.
- He explained that without the centrifugal forces of a rotating globe keeping the tectonic plates afloat, they'd all sink down under the oceans within a decade of "total wind neutralization".

Of course he had charts and diagrams and all sorts of papers with his data, but the above is pretty much what he was saying.

Not the first time I've heard this, but it is the first time I've heard it being connected to a government briefing.
